Keep yourself occupied by looking at the photos from New Orleans….

Wow, it’s been like a gazillion years since I’ve been to NO during Mardi Gras. Was it well-attended? I haven’t read about what MG is like since Katrina. (probably afraid to) Looks like you were having a good time, though. I’m thinking I need to start having a yearly MG party. I could park the kid on the loft, dress her up krewe-style and have her throw beads at anyone downstairs that flashes her. Heh.
Mmm. Dem mudbugs look goooood! (the kidlet says you should take the heads off…then they don’t have eyes. Yeah…not the point dear, but thanks! :p ) Dem bugs come with hush puppies? I dips them in a mix o’ ketchup & tiger sauce. Yum.
Damnit, if I’d thought about it, I woulda told you to send me a king cake!
Great. All I’m talking about is food. Well, of course…that’s how you can tell it’s me!

Mardi Gras is the 20th. I was just there for first two parades.
Every year for my birthday we used to fly in 100 pounds of crawfish, a doberge cake, a king cake, and hurricane mix from Pat O Brien’s. We haven’t flown crawfish in since Katrina. I don’t even eat it anymore. lol.
My favorite King Cake places are out of business- destroyed in Katrina. It’s really hard to get a king cake now and you can’t buy a big one. I finally was able to find a decent recipe and make one. I’ll post it later.
Mmmm. I miss doberge more than anything….
