Ok people, I’ve got an ethical question regarding laminated lists. I found out last night that a certain movie star on my laminated list is actually “accessible”. I discovered last night that he went to my high school and graduated the year after one of my brothers and the year before the other one. So I fired off an email to the oldest (who was student body president and who knows EVERYONE) to ask if he knew him. HE DOES! I replied “OMG! HE IS CUTE WITH A CAPITOL Q!” lol. But here’s the ethical question: Steve says he can’t be on my laminated list because of the degrees of separation. I could actually meet him. I retorted that since both my siblings (2/3) work in Hollywood, I could technically meet pretty much anyone. However, he says this guy is too close, I could stop at his parent’s house. lol. So what is it people? Sound off like you got a pair!

Nope you shouldn’t have to remove him. Just don’t start stopping by his parents house.
Really I don’t think it counts unless YOU went to school with him. Btw you do have to tell who?

Stop listening to the man. You KNOW he’d keep someone on his list if he had the same home court advantage.

Not fair. I have no hope of home court advantage — my high school was on the OTHER side of the tracks. People from my high school don’t become famous. Several have become infamous, however, which I guess is almost as good.

We have all seen Steve’s legs, and no one could never compare to that!

Brandy- I’m totally planning on camping out on the front lawn until he visits mom and dad!!!!!!!!!
I could tell you, but then I’d have to kill you!
Unique- HE TOTALLY WOULD! If Scarlett Johansen went to his high school, he would TOTALLY! Oh and if she were like, 20 years older too. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!
Steve- SO TOTALLY FAIR! Side of the tracks has NOTHING to do with it!!!!
Melissa- LMAO! Bow chicka bow wow!!!!

Sorry Steve, but that’ the whole idea of the laminated list. It’s in case you happen to meet them. If there were never ever any chance whatsoever there would be no point in a laminated list.

Keeping this person on your list is TOTALLY fine! Snarfdog has the right of it. Yes, it’s improbable but there’s supposed to be a remote chance of something actually happening!
Although, offering to take this person off your list might give you some good bargaining power. Like, “I’ll take him off the list if you get a babysitter for the kids and take me out to dinner.” That could be well worth it!

Um, may I ask what a laminated list is?

Susan- He’s still over here yelling about his wrong side of the tracks and stuff.
Optimist- LOL!!! In all seriousness, this guy is 9 years younger than me. Like he’s going to go for my really hot wrinkles and saggy post-baby tits when he’s got his choice of the Hollywood chicks and their fake perky ones…
Sandi- Sigh. You never watched that Friends episode? A laminated list is a list of your fav celebrities (that is laminated so you can’t change it) and if you ever met one of these celebrities and had the opportunity for hanky panky you get a free pass from your spouse/ significant other for a guilt free roll in the sack….

Ooooohhhhhh, geez, that’s a little weird. Yeah, I’m a bit behind on TV…I’ve been living in Austria for the last 6 years and we just get dubbed episodes of ‘King of Queens’ and stuff like that. Needless to say I don’t watch much TV!
Oh, and regarding the menopause/death thing from before - I’m only 33 so that rules that out. But I am taking hormones for fertility reasons so the reaction could be similar. Interesting thought though…thanks.
May 22, 2007 at 11:29 am
Lol Sandi! That’s a great episode if you ever to watch it.
It could definitely be hormonal. Is it Clomid? That makes everyone feel and act weird.
May 23, 2007 at 12:25 am
Yeah, clomid and a bunch of other hormones. Clomid is definetly the worst though, I hate it
The crappy thing is that I am perfectly fine, it’s my husband’s issue, yet I have to do all the suffering. *sigh*
May 23, 2007 at 9:37 am
Tell Steve to quit whining. I grew up on those same side of the tracks and I’m not whining. Besides, many many actors/actresses, musicians come from the “wrong side” of the tracks. Not an excuse. Try again Steve.

Sandi- Ah yes, the clomid crazy. lol. Did you try IUI before you started what I’m assuming is going to be IVF?
Susan- Ok you went to the high school in the same town as I did. I already know he’s going to argue that. And if you’re referring to your younger days, Milpitas is still loads better than where he grew up. He grew up in the G-H-E-T-T-Ooooooo. However, your point is valid, Hottie McDreamy stays on my list.
He can not argue that.
May 24, 2007 at 11:14 pm
Actually, it’s complicated, IVF failed and now we are doing IUI…
May 25, 2007 at 3:02 am
Ok, woman…I went to the same high school as you and I haven’t a clue who you’re talking about. You have my email addy. Hint hint.
May 25, 2007 at 7:41 am
Sandi- How odd for an RE to do an IVF first instead of an IUI. Well, I suppose it’s more $$$$ for them. Sigh.
Beth- Yes, these are the secrets us high level laminated list keepers have.
